Psychophysics

Have you ever heard the term “psychophysics?”

Not many people have. And to many who have heard the word, it sounds like something out of a cheesy science fiction novel.

But, in reality, psychophysics is an important branch of psychology that deals with the relationship between stimuli and the perceptions and cognitive functions that they produce. It is an important field in the study of hearing, as many studies on hearing focus not only on the auditory organ itself but on the human brain as well.
