The Hearing Loss Association of America is the nation’s leading organization representing people with hearing loss. HLAA offers support, services, and myriad of information to individuals who are personally affected with hearing loss, or know someone, personally, who is. They have several chapters and support groups as well. They are advocating their noble cause by having a Walk for Hearing, the largest series of walks of its kind, held in the spring in fall in major cities throughout the country. Registration is free, and participants are encouraged to embrace valiant efforts to raise money. The Walk4Hearing in New York City will take place Sunday, October 18th, from 10am-12pm in Riverside Park. Considering the National Center for Health Statistics announced that roughly 36 million (17%) American adults have some degree of hearing loss, it is important to become aware and partake in a cause that could effect you, or someone you care about. Be active, and attend a Walk4hearing near you.
